About
Austin Poorbaugh is a composer and performer whose works focus on cyclical processes, organic evolutions, and exploring the connection between old world theories and new thought. Previously, Austin has undertaken projects that look into the application of hermetic writings and theories in practical music as well as the inclusion of new tonality system in his works.
Styles of interest include modular, cyclic, and meditative music. Also of particular interest is research into new thoughts and ideas with regards to music theory both Western and of other cultures and how these practicies and traditions can be applied in creating new music today. Austin also serves on the Board of Directors for Eclective, a new art non-profit organization. Graduating in the Spring of 2018, he will hold a B.M. from the University of North Texas in Music Composition and Music Theory. |

This site is a creative entity through which works and ideas are shared. Many niches and areas of music and the creative arts are explored and researched all in an attempt to bring about the better understanding of what art means and can evoke from each individual.
Music can permeate and fill so many aspects of our lives. It can stand on its own thematic basis, or be used to accompany and paint an aural story for the listener. I hope to create both sonic and tangible works that can inspire and provide others with both insight and a positive response. Through my art I hope to spread both a further appreciation and enjoyment of new music as well as instilling within others the desire to reflect upon the temporal world as a whole and appreciate each moment with every ounce of one's being.
